Remembrance Day at Stoctkon

After meeting at the new memorial stone in Jubilee Fields to say a pray and lay a wreath, the congregation was led by the flag parties of the Scouts, Cubs, Beavers and Brownies for our annual service of Remembrance in Church.  The poppies around the porch, made by the ladies of our Knit & Natter group, were much admired.

Create & Play

"Create & Play" happens every Tuesday morning from 9.30 to 11.00am in Stockton Church for toddlers and babies for creative play!

Our clergy team is complete!

On Monday 21st August, we welcomed Rev. Celia Parkes to our ministry team as our Associate Minister, along with Rev. Gillian Roberts, Priest-in-Charge, and Rev. Carol Newborn, Associate Minister.  See my letter for more details.

Messy Church summer special

We had a lovely Messy Church summer special when the seaside came to Stockton.  We thought about the story of Jesus feeding the 5000 - decorated fish biscuits, weaved baskets and made bread.  Then finished the morning with a picnic in the sunshine.

Books, Banter & Beverages

Second hand (adults and childrens) book sale in the Barn, Holt Farm, Holt Road, Napton, CV47 1AJ (home of Neil and Angie Adkins). Saturday and Sunday, 26th & 27th August 2-5pm. Come along for delicious cake, tea and coffee, and browse a huge selection of 2nd hand books. Free entry and all proceeds to St Lawrence Church Roof Repair Fund.

 

The Olive Tree Project in Palestine

Join us to hear how Palestinian farmers are keeping hope alive and planting for peace from Muhanad Qaisy of the Joint Advocacy Initiative in Bethlehem on Tuesday 29th August at 7.30pm in St Michael's Church, Stockton.  This meeting will be hosted by the charity Embrace the Middle East.
