This Chancel was re-floored  A.D. 1871 in memory of the Reverend CHARLES PILKINGTON B.C.L. fellow of Pew College , Oxford and afterwards Canon of Chichester Cathedral. The beloved and respected Rector of this parish for 36 years - (Interior Chancel North Wall)

To the pious memory of that virtuous and religious gentlewoman Mrs. ELLEN PILKINGTON (eldest daughter of Mr. RICHARD QUINEY Citizen and Grocer of London) married to EDWARD PILKINGTON formerly of Stockton in the County of Warwick, Gentleman by whom she had several children which dyd young, except one daughter, now married to ROBERT HARVEY Esquire of Grandburrow in the said County. She departed this life August XV MDCLXXXIX in the LXXI year of her age and lyes buryed in the vault under this stone. In the same vault layeth ye body of the just and charitable EDWARD PILKINGTON Esquire and husband of (the above deceased) ELLEN PILKINGTON who departed this life Xber ye X (December 10th) MDCLXXXIII aged LXXXIIII. Within ye same vault layeth ye body of BARBARA HARVEY wife of ROBERT HARVEY Esquire and the only daughter of ye above written EDWARD PILKINGTON and ye ELLENER his wife who departed this life ye 24th of May 1712 aged 62 years - (Interior South Wall)
