Easter Egg Hunt

On Easter Saturday Pam organised an Easter egg hunt in and around St Lawrence, Napton. She and Dick did an amazing job of hiding eggs in every available space, so much so that we will be finding them for a while yet. Several families came to take part in the hunt, one en route from Orkney!! Jayne organised some craft activities and everyone had the chance to make baskets for the children to collect eggs in. The grown-ups were well looked after with a plentiful supply of coffee and cakes. It was lovely to have a buzzing church for a good couple of hours.

Beryl Griffin RIP

It is with great sadness that we heard this week that Beryl Griffin passed away on 7th March. Beryl played the organ at St Lawrence for over 60 years until ill health prevented her from carrying on, earlier last year. She will be missed hugely but never forgotten.

Her funeral will take place at St Lawrence Church, Napton on Thursday 17th March at 11am and everyone, is of course, very welcome.

We all pray that Beryl will rest in peace but will also be experiencing the joy of being re-united with Jesus.

Soul Spark course for Lent

Soul Spark is a course running at St Lawrence Church on Wednesday evenings starting at 7.30pm throughout Lent. The first session started yesterday but each session is "stand alone" so you can dip in and out if you want to.

The course looks at our spirituality and got off to an amazing start.

Contact Gillian if you would like more information.

Acting Curate in Charge

CURATE in CHARGE. On Sunday 31st January Archdeacon Missioner (Morris Rodham) came to the Gathering Service to officially tell us that all the churches in the Bridges group had agreed to the proposal that Gillian Roberts should lead the Bridges Group as acting Curate-in-Charge for 6 months. We all know that Gillian will be fab at it.

Carol Singing

The village at its best
Our junior choir

On Friday evening we joined forces with Napton Village Stores for a wonderful evening of singing carols outside the shop and raised £95 towards the up-keep of St Lawrence Church. This event was once again fabulously supported by the village and a great time was had by all.

Thanks must go to Adam and Hannah Slade for organising such a lovely evening and to all who came along to sing.
