October News

News for October

Harvest – is a really important time in our communities to give thanks for our food and the beautiful countryside we live in.  Details of our Harvest Festivals and Harvest meals are elsewhere in the magazine.  Please come along to them.

Gift Day – on 4th October, the people of Priors Marston will be having an opportunity to give thanks for their local church at the Gift/Open Day.  As part of that day, we are also asking church members to thoughtfully and prayerfully consider how they support their church.

Bereavement Services – in the last year there seem to have been a lot more funerals than usual.  The bereavement services at 4.30pm on 26th October in Stockton Church and on 2nd November in Napton Church are for families to come and spend some time remembering and praying for those they have lost and to take comfort and encouragement.  These services last about 45 minutes and conclude with a cup of tea and a chat with people in a similar situation.

“Just Looking” - as we write this, we hope that as a result of the Hope14 initiative, some people will have been moved to rethink their faith.  This follow-up course will help that process to continue.  But it is also open to anyone who wants to explore more about Christianity.

More details of all these events are given elsewhere in the magazine.  Or phone Bob or Gillian to find out more.

Best wishes,

Bob & Gillian
